It will soon be over with the current RS 6. However, people with gasoline in their blood need not be nervous about the reveal.
The Audi RS 6 GT will be made in 660 copies and may be the last of the current C8 generation. But only one of the cars comes to Denmark. And the buyer has already signed up.
The Danish Audi importer said this in a press release this week.
Fans of the RS 6, however, have nothing to fear. Because a new model is coming. Also before Audi completely scraps the idea of fossil cars in 2026.
Audi's head of development Stephan Reil has already confirmed this.
The car sticks to the internal combustion engine. But unlike the current model, which is a mild hybrid, it is expected that Audi will send a plug-in hybrid on the street next time.
So an RS 6 with a power cable, as strange as it sounds. On the other hand, it will enable Audi to retain the 4-litre V8 engine. And not only that.
Thanks to the hybrid package, the RS 6 gets even more horsepower. Right now, the RS 6 has never had more than the 630 horsepower of the current C8. Not even when the model in 2008 and 2010 had as many as 10 cylinders and twin turbos.
But it will come. More horsepower that is. It is not known whether Audi will stick with the RS 6 name when the last C9 generation retires sometime in the future. But there are indications that this is not the case. Read more about it here .
