Aston Martin regrets – now the V12 engine is resurrected

First it was dead, then it was still not completely. And now Aston Martin is building V12 engines again after postponing plans for electric cars.

Motorists with a lot of money would rather have combustion, sound and a feeling with their cars than they want to ride in electric cars.

Based on that realization, Aston Martin has chosen to postpone the launch of a purely electric model. Read more about it here .

But the brand from Gaydon, England, has done more than that. Because the British have regretted their decision to never again build a car with a V12 engine. A decision that was taken in March 2022.

Aston Martin does not yet want to say how big the new V12 engine is measured in cubic meters. But the brand would like to say that it produces 835 horsepower and an insane 1,000 Nm.

– With 835 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, this engine represents nothing less than a new V12 era for Aston Martin, says the brand's technical director Roberto Fedeli.

For the time being, Aston Martin is tight-lipped about which car the engine will be installed in first. They will only say that it is about an upcoming flagship.

However, our colleagues at Top Gear believe that the engine will find its way into an upcoming Vanquish, which Aston Martin is teasing for later this year.

When Aston changes its saddle, it has something to do with a particularly sharp realization at the factory. The brand's customers simply do not want to pay for or own electric cars.

– Motorists' demand, especially when you consider Aston Martin's price level, is not where we thought it would be two years ago, admitted board chairman Lawrence Stroll.

And he is certainly not alone in thinking that. Mate Rimac, who is otherwise known for building crazy electric cars, also says that time has passed for that kind of thing. Read more about it here .
