As a hearse, the Tesla Model 3 costs one million kroner

Have you thought about what your final journey will be in? If the answer is a Tesla Model 3, it is available as a hearse for a lot of money.

A hearse built on the facelifted Tesla Model 3 is already a reality. Dutch company Derks Funeral Mobility has converted a Tesla Model 3 into a hearse and put it up for sale for 118,950 euros. That's just under one million Danish kroner.

The Tesla was built as a regular Model 3 in late 2023 and has a range of just 55 kilometers. It is based on the facelifted Model 3, but has undergone extensive modifications to accommodate a coffin.

The rear of the car has been redesigned with a new roof that curves upwards and outwards, making room for a large tailgate.

The taillights are integrated into the new rear bumper and are unchanged from the factory car. The rear doors have been removed, but there are two storage compartments on each side of the car behind the front doors. Just like many other hearses in the world are equipped with.

The interior in the front part of the cabin is identical to a regular Model 3. That is, one very large screen for most functions and nothing else. Or, that is, almost nothing else.

A partition keeps the front part of the cabin separate from the 'cargo space', which is arranged as it should be. That is, just like that, with the difference that a 'starry sky' has been added to the ceiling. The less than anything a Rolls-Royce could have come with from the factory.

The conversion of a Tesla Model 3 into a hearse shows how electric cars are increasingly being used for various purposes. The next silent drive also makes the American electric car suitable for precisely 'the last journey', where respect and dignity are crucial.

Derks Funeral Mobility specializes in building hearses. According to the Dutch, the reason they chose the Tesla Model 3 is its efficiency and range. Whether the conversion is worth a few million kroner is another question.

May there be more noise on the day you leave, Richard's Opel Omega might be more for you. The car is powered by nothing less than one gigantic jet engine. It also empties the tank in just 90 seconds. Read more about it here .
