The United States Department of Justice has filed a case against Apple because there are signs of monopoly-like conditions, also in the drivers' cars.
In the US alone, Apple has 70 percent of the market for smartphones. And now the American government, led by the Ministry of Justice, is sounding the alarm.
The Ministry of Justice has chosen to sue Apple because the company holds on to its position on the market so well that it resembles monopoly conditions.
But the Ministry of Justice's concern goes far beyond Apple's phones themselves. The software in iPhones is also cause for concern.
The Associated Press writes this based on a review of the lawsuit itself.

In the lawsuit, the US authorities write that Apple CarPlay is a way to 'tie' consumers to Apple's own hardware, software and services. The so-called 'eco-system'.
In that way, the people at the Ministry of Justice are worried that Apple is stifling competition and innovation internally in the car industry and the sector around it.
As an example, the US authorities cite digital car keys. Car brands that wish to develop this kind of thing today have to do it so that it works with Apple's own 'Wallet' and not the car brand's own app.
– The default choice of Apple Wallet draws consumers in the direction of Apple's products rather than allowing third parties to have a digital car wallet in, for example, their own app.
– This increases the dependence on Apple and iPhone in cars, writes the US Department of Justice.
Apple itself calls the lawsuit wrong, both when it comes to the purely factual and the legislation itself. At the same time, the company says that it is ready to 'vigorously defend itself' against the charges.
