Another Formula 1 team has wrecked Kevin Magnussen

Kevin Magnussen's opportunities in Formula 1 in 2025 are getting smaller and smaller after saying goodbye to the Haas garage. There are many indications that Alpine has opted out of the Dane.

Kevin Magnussen will not be the man Alpine offers the vacant seat ahead of the 2025 season.

Instead, the French team, which is said to switch to Mercedes engines already from next season, is looking for a choir in its own ranks.

That's what Mestmotor writes.

The media believes that Australian Jack Doohan, who is currently filling the role of reserve choir, will take over the vacant seat after Esteban Ocon. Ocon who himself is on his way to Haas.

Jack Doohan has previously been associated with Red Bull's program for young racers, as he was picked up by Alpine in 2022.

Doohan drove Formula 2 for Invicta Virtuosi Racing until last year, where it resulted in an overall 3rd place after three wins in the season.

That Doohan is indeed Ocon's replacement at Alpine has not been finally confirmed, however. But Motorsport.com also believes that the 21-year-old Australian is fast approaching the vacant seat at Alpine.

That really only leaves Kevin Magnussen with one option. Namely the seat next to the Dane's current teammate Nico Hulkenberg at Sauber/Audi.

Technically, Mercedes also has a seat available as Lewis Hamilton moves to Ferrari from next season. But most expect team boss Toto Wolff to give the young Kimi Antonelli the place.

Especially since, after months of speculation, Carlos Sainz was this week confirmed as a Williams driver. The wrecked Ferrari man has been given a 'multi-year deal,' says Williams.

Magnussen otherwise knows the Alpine team inside out. The Dane shortened the 2016 season for the team, as at that time it was still called Renault, because he joined Haas.

However, K-Mag's chances in Formula 1 should not be completely written off. No other Formula 1 choir has managed to make as many comebacks as the Dane in a sport that is notoriously difficult to even become a part of. A brand new Formula 1 team could also be the Dane's salvation. Read more about it here .
