It is not only here at home that car brands are slimming down and moving around. The same is happening overseas, where 100 Lincoln dealers are being fired this year.
It is not only among the car brands themselves that there is currently a build-up to a carnage of dimensions. The same thing happens a little further out at the dealers.
Here at home, a number of car importers announced drastic diet plans last year. Among them, one in five of Nissan's Danish dealers are not part of the brand's new plans.
But it is not only here at home that car brands are tightening their belts. In December, Buick lost half of its US dealerships.
And now Ford's premium brand Lincoln announces that it will fire 100 dealers in the country this year. It has to be seen in relation to 2022, when the brand also said goodbye to 100 dealers.

Most of the now fired dealers also already sell Ford models, and the management will now offer them more Ford models as 'a plaster on the wound'.
It is planned that with the layoffs, Lincoln will reduce the number of dealers in the United States to just over 400. Back at the beginning of 2022, there were 637 Lincoln dealers.
