Anne parked incorrectly – then her Nissan was scrapped

Anne lost her 15-year-old Nissan Primastar because she parked incorrectly. Now she has lost the whole case in the district court.

Norwegian Anne Aakre had problems with her 15-year-old Nissan Primastar two years ago. She therefore made a quick decision and parked the car at a Rema.

When she went to pick it up the next day, the car was gone. She therefore hurried to report the whole thing to both the police and the insurance company.

Only several months later, however, did she find out that the car had been towed away and later scrapped.

That's what Motor writes.

According to the media, Anne Aakre lost valuables worth NOK 132,000. Just as she received a claim of NOK 26,400. Just because she parked on a Sunday when the shop was closed.

Anne Aakre ended up losing 132,000 Norwegian kroner worth of valuables. Just as she has received a bill of NOK 26,400 just because she parked incorrectly outside a convenience store on a Sunday when the store was closed.

– What has happened is completely unreasonable. I can't imagine something like this happening in Norway, she says to Motor.

Nevertheless, she has now lost the case in the district court, because the parking company did not do anything legally wrong when Anne's car was towed away.

In addition to the car now being scrapped, Anne Aakre must pay the parking company's legal costs. This is the money that adds up to more than DKK 26,000.

– Among other things, there were Porsche rims, jacks, a mobile phone and a dashcam, she says.

And from here it becomes word for word. For the parking company claims that they sent Anne Aakre a registered letter about the towing of the car and where it was stored. But the Nissan owner claims she never heard anything from the parking company.

Right now, Anne Aakre doesn't know what to do about the matter. However, she has a month to consider whether she wants to appeal the sentence.
