Activists used diesel generator to demand Tesla factory shut down

Armed with slogans, banners and a diesel generator, left-wing activists demanded the closure of Tesla's German factory on Sunday last week.

Both Tesla and the police in Germany now believe that it was left-wing protesters who were behind an arson attack against the car company's factory on the outskirts of Berlin last week.

A German activist group has also since taken the blame for the attack. But the activists have not raged on the factory yet.

On Sunday last week, around 800 protesters thus took to the streets in Germany. With them they had banners, slogans and a diesel generator.

That's what Teslarati writes.

The diesel generator ensured that there was life in a loudspeaker, which the protesters used to chant slogans against the American car brand. According to Teslarati, a member of the protest group 'Tesla den Hahn abdrehen' demanded a gradual shutdown of the factory.

However, the angry leftists were not the only ones on the streets with demonstrations. On the social media "X" – the former Twitter – Tesla has shared live images from a counter-demonstration.

Here, employees and the car brand's supporters had taken up positions around the factory. Under the slogan "We don't let ourselves be closed", they thus demonstrated against the demands of the activists.

On Tuesday morning, Automobilwoche wrote that the power supply to the factory is working again after the attack last week. However, it is still uncertain when the assembly lines will be able to run again.

However, it is not only left-wing activists who have a problem with Tesla. Among the local population in the town where the factory is located, there is also concern.

Among other things, because people fear the factory's water consumption and environmental impact. As recently as February, Tesla therefore received a preliminary refusal to expand the factory. Read more about it here .
