The police caught 995 motorists on the same road – short 229 km/h

The police's automatic traffic control was busy in connection with three controls on the part of Østjyske Motorvej that runs south of Vejle.

In recent weeks, South East Jutland Police have carried out a number of speed checks on the Østjyske Motorvej (E45) south of Vejle. It costs 995 drivers expensive.

This is stated by the police circle in a press release .

The overall focus has been on the northbound direction towards the Vejlefjord Bridge, an area where speeding has historically been a problem. Surprisingly, the speeding problems have been found to be widespread in both directions on the highway.

The checks were carried out in three different periods and days. The first measurement took place on Tuesday 27 August from 13.00 to 18.30.

This control was aimed at northbound traffic on the E45. The results showed that 605 drivers exceeded the permitted speed of 110 km/h, of which the highest speed recorded was 152 km/h.

The second measurement was carried out on Friday 6 September in the same direction, but this time the control point was moved approximately three kilometers closer to the Vejlefjord Bridge.

The inspection was carried out from 09.30 to 14.00. Here, 314 motorists were registered driving over the permitted speed limit, with the highest speed measured at 151 km/h.

The third and last measurement took place in the night hours from Thursday 7 September at 23.00 until Sunday 8 September at 05.00.

This time the focus was on southbound traffic south of the Vejlefjord Bridge. Although the number of motorists was lower at night, 76 motorists were measured exceeding the speed limit of 120 km/h.

A single driver was recorded with an extreme speed of 229 km/h. This speeding incident is currently under investigation, according to law enforcement.

A total of 995 drivers were ticketed as a result of the three speed checks. The minimum fine for speeding is DKK 1,200. South Jutland Police continues to monitor and control the speed on the motorway and other relevant sections.
