Tesla takes patent for wireless charging

Tesla has taken and obtained a patent for a technology that enables wireless charging of the brand's cars. What the invention will be used for is unknown.

Tesla has taken and obtained a patent for a technology that enables wireless charging of the brand's electric cars. It is not yet known what the brand will use the technology for.

But a close proposition could be self-driving cars. Cars like Tesla through its CEO Elon Musk have been talking about for years.

And after delaying the introduction of what many expect to be a robot taxi, there are indications that Tesla has the long end. At least when it comes to charging.

Because with the patent, Tesla has a technology that makes something otherwise unreasonable quite easy for the robot taxis. Namely charging without human intervention.

This is written by Electrek .

Specifically, Tesla has been granted a patent for four different ways to charge wirelessly. The news comes after the brand's chief designer Franz von Holzhausen confirmed that Tesla is working on solutions for wireless charging. And it must have succeeded now.

How much Tesla intends to tell the outside world about wireless charging is unknown. But according to plan, the car brand will present a self-driving car on October 10. Maybe a robot taxi.

Tesla is far from the latest to usurp exciting patents from time to time. Ferrari does exactly the same. In Maranello, the technique of turning an internal combustion engine upside down has been protected.

An engine that can also burn hydrogen. That is, with the cylinder head turned upside down. Other car brands make do with somewhat more modest technology. In the future, Toyota's models will, for example, know when you need to fill the ton. Read more about it here .
