Hybrid car batteries cost more than Denmark's cheapest electric car

Power is on the sun 1.7 kWh. Even so, it will cost DKK 231,000 to change the battery pack in a hybrid-powered Range Rover.

The car isn't even worth it. Even so, it must cost 31,000 euros, equivalent to 231,000 kroner, to change the battery pack in a hybrid-powered Range Rover.

This is the message the owner has received from the workshop. This is what the Croatian EV Clinic writes in a post on the social media X – which was previously called Twitter.

The same workshop succeeded in fixing the problem in Hansjörg von Gemmingen's Tesla Model S. The car has an absurdly high mileage. Read more about it here . Nevertheless, Croatians praise the car brand.

In another posting on 'X', EV Clinic writes, among other things, about Teslas, that 'they (the cars, ed.) are the only ones we see with the original battery packs and a mileage of over 600,000.

Back at the hybrid-powered Range Rover. Nothing works without the battery pack. In fact, the car won't even start or turn on the air conditioning when the battery pack is collapsed. In this case, it is three rows of the so-called cells that have come off.

They are apparently not replaceable, so the only solution is a new battery. A new battery that is admittedly more expensive than even Denmark's cheapest electric car.

Right now, it is the Citroen e-C3 that is expected to have a price of just under DKK 180,000. But as Boosted could tell last week, an even cheaper electric car has announced its arrival. Read more about it here.

However, battery cells collapsing are not the biggest problem in hybrid cars. Recently, Boosted has several times been able to tell about hybrid cars that have exploded. In July it took place, among other things in addition to a little girl who was on a choir trip with her grandfather in an otherwise brand new Volvo.

– When my wife saw Rog, I tried to open the back door, but it wouldn't open. I jumped back in to save the little one.

– But in less than 10 seconds the car was full of roe and I couldn't see her in her car seat. Fortunately, I managed to feel for the seat belt and get her out of the car, writes Dave Butler, who owned the car, on his Facebook profile.
