Spare part for DKK 50 destroyed the engine in Eric's Fiat 500

Eric Berg is behind the YouTube channel "I Do Cars" – in one of his latest videos, he takes apart a Fiat 500 engine. A small part for DKK 50 destroyed everything.

Eric Berg's Fiat 500 with a 1.4-litre petrol engine and 101 horsepower no longer works. So for the entertainment value in it, he has taken it apart completely.

Everything in front of a camera, so it has ended up on Youtube and the channel "I Do Cars". At first, there's just not really anything to go after. At least not visually as the engine is disassembled.

The strange thing is that the engine 'only' has just under 200,000 kilometers when it mysteriously stops. The first step is the toothpicks.

On one of them, Eric Berg notices that quite a bit is missing. However, the small remnant is nowhere to be seen. So the intake is split apart. Nothing to see here either.

– It looks good. Nothing to worry about here at all, it sounds like.

There is also nothing to complain about with the timing belt. And then it's time to remove the cylinder head. There is nothing to discuss here, because the small part of the spark plug is bent that way.

– It has probably been there for hundreds of kilometres, which has caused quite a bit of damage. It's not something you want to do with your stamps, says Eric Berg.

Some new spark plugs – maybe just one – might have saved the engine. That is, if it had been changed in time. Such a thing costs a good 50 Danish kroner.
