36 people are dead in the world's biggest car scandal

At least 36 people are dead in what can rightly be called the world's biggest car scandal. In the US alone, the defective airbags have cost 28 people their lives.

Japan's Takata went bankrupt in the world's biggest car scandal. But millions of defective airbags that crumble from the inside are still a deadly problem.

A problem which has now claimed its 28th victim in the United States alone. Worldwide, at least 36 people have lost their lives in accidents that can be related to the defective airbags.

This is written by USA Today .

This time too, it is a Honda owner who has lost his life. This is according to the US traffic safety authorities.

The accident happened way back in 2018. But it is only now that it has finally been established that the fatal accident happened because of the dangerous airbag.

Earlier, Honda in the USA said that in another case it tried for years to inform another driver about the dangerous airbags. However, that did not happen, because an accident cost the person's life.

In total, 20 out of the 28 known fatal accidents have occurred in Honda models. However, the brand announces that it has currently replaced 16.9 million Takata airbags. This corresponds to 95 percent of the faulty airbags that Honda is aware of.

However, the Takata scandal is a nightmare for far more car brands. As recently as July this year, BMW had to recall more than 400,000 cars with the fatal error. Read more about it here.

The life-threatening airbags are also a problem at home. Nissan in Denmark is one of the importers that still informs its customers that there can be fatal faults in the cars. But BMW has also recalled several cars in Denmark. So does Honda.
