Tesla will release self-driving cars in Europe in 2025

Right now, European Tesla owners have to make do with the so-called autopilot and 'fully autonomous features'. Now there is more to come, says the brand.

Tesla's cars are not self-driving cars and never have been. Still, the brand believes there is more to come. And already in 2025.

According to Bloomberg and Europeans don't have to wait any longer than next year for Tesla's official X account for the subsidiary Tesla AI.

In fact, the only thing holding Tesla back is regulatory approval. And it can be quite a difficult nut to crack. Other brands – including Mercedes – have only been allowed to make similar measures with self-coring technology on a trial basis.

So in Europe. Because it's a little easier in the US. Here, the authorities have given Tesla permission to offer cars in which the owners can let go of the steering wheel.

The car brand's CEO, Elon Musk, has previously said that he expects to have the European approvals in place by the end of 2024.

With the Blue Cruise technology, a brand like Ford has actually given the green light for drivers to let go of the wheel. Also in Denmark. But it is only on carefully selected roads and only under certain conditions. Read more about it here.

Boosted has also described how things have gone wrong in Teslas where the hands have not been on the steering wheel. But the car brand cannot be blamed for the accidents. Instead, the whole fault lies with the owners, who misunderstand the difference between the various 'self-feeding systems'. Several times it has ended fatally.
