Famous race track sued for being… a race track

The famous American race track Laguna Seca has had some 'neighbors' on their necks because it exists at all.

Laguna Seca was built in 1957. History has since made the racetrack one of the world's most famous racetracks.

But now a number of neighbors, who ironically named their protest group after a highway 'Highway 68', are complaining about the track.

Specifically, the noise level from it, which the neighbors believe has increased dramatically in the past two years. That is because there is supposedly more activity in the Laguna Seca area.

It's just that Laguna Seca is already subject to strict noise requirements. For example, cars whose soundtrack is above a certain decibel limit are not welcome on the track at all.

However, the neighbors of the track also complain that the traffic to and from the track has become more violent. And that the air quality in the area is declining as a result.

The fact that Laguna Seca has expanded a campsite near the track also seems too crazy to the neighbors. The neighbors believe that their everyday life is being disrupted. Especially because the asphalt at Laguna Seca can now be rented out for private purposes and events that do not necessarily have anything to do with motor racing.

The lawyer put on the case by the angry neighbors is demanding that the authorities in California, where the track is located, ban engine lobes that do not meet a noise limit determined as far back as 1985.

It's just the fact that the revenues from the Laguna Seca track add to the coffers of the authorities.

So well, in fact, that the revenue from the track has become an important part of the Monterey County budget. The probability that the grumpy neighbors arrived after the construction of the track in 1957 is also quite high.
