Germany promises to reintroduce state subsidies for electric cars

Sales of electric cars in Germany have now collapsed for eight months in a row. This is now causing the country's government to promise new support and a tax discount on the cars.

The electric cars find it difficult to manage without support. And now the German government has agreed to reintroduce state subsidies for electric cars.

This is written by NTV .

The regret in the German government comes after sales of new electric cars in Germany have declined for the 8th month in a row. In fact, sales have directly collapsed after the government suspended the state subsidy with immediate effect in December.

In the month of August alone, sales fell by 37 percent compared to the previous year. And now the country's car industry is starting to complain about it. Volkswagen is directly considering closing down entire factories in the country.

– Companies like Volkswagen must make decisions that reflect their responsibility towards society and workers.

– We will continue to support the conversion to electric cars, both through initiatives that stimulate demand and through efforts that strengthen supply, says Robert Habeck, Germany's Minister of Economy, according to NTV.

The situation in Germany is not much different from the general picture in the European markets. Without government support, electric cars do really poorly. On the other hand, hybrid cars have made tremendous progress. Read more about it here .
