Danish Alba has been named the best rookie in Formula 4

Danish Alba Hurup Larsen is just 15 years old. But now she has already qualified for the title of the best rookie in Indian Formula 4.

Alba Hurup Larsen, a 15-year-old Danish racer, took another important step in her career when she participated in the second division of the F4 Indian Championship.

The race took place on a challenging urban circuit in Chennai, one of India's largest cities. Here she achieved a sixth and an eighth place, which secured her the title of the weekend's best rookie.

Despite limited training – two 10-minute sessions before qualifying – Alba Hurup Larsen managed to qualify as ninth and eighth respectively.

Hurup Larsen managed to transfer this speed to Sunday's two lobs. In the first race, she delivered a strong performance with a good start and several impressive overtakes, which resulted in sixth place.

In the final race, she set the fifth fastest lap time of the race and finished in eighth place after an intense competition.

Larsen had made her championship debut the week before in Madras and her performance in Chennai marked another positive development in her young career.

She expressed surprise at her results as she had not originally expected much from the weekend.

– I must honestly say that I did not expect anything at all from this weekend. I'm still completely new to the game, and having to race on a city track surrounded by large concrete blocks seemed pretty crazy at first.

– But I found the rhythm surprisingly quickly, and thanks to my skilled engineer we succeeded in a good preparation before the qualification, reads a press release .

The experience of participating in the championship in India has been positive for Larsen, both on and off the pitch.

She particularly highlighted the support she has received from her team and the rapid development she has undergone. “It's been a great experience, both to get the results on the pitch, but also to come to India and meet a lot of new people.

– I am enormously proud of my progress, for which I can especially thank my engineer and the rest of the team. Three weeks ago, we didn't even know that I was going to debut in Formula 4 this year, and now I've completed two divisions of a championship and been on the podium. It's pretty crazy," says Alba Hurup Larsen.
