Seized twice on an illegal road – fined DKK 16,400.

A motorist must pay 16,400 Norwegian kroner in fines after he was caught barking in the bus lane twice in five minutes.

Twice in just five minutes. In other words, twice a roundabout in a bus lane. It now costs a Norwegian motorist a stall of DKK 16,400. That's DKK 10,440.

This is written by Motor.no .

– A motorist was first stopped and given a ticket at 09.45. Five minutes later, the same motorist was stopped in the same bus lane somewhat further east.

– The motorist thus received a fine for having a card in the bus lane twice within five minutes, writes task leader Bjarne Endal Pedersen in the Norwegian police's response to the police report.

The police add that the driver admitted both times that he had broken the law and therefore deserved both stops. However, he was not the only one who snuck into the bus lane on Thursday.

A total of 10 motorists on the same stretch were fined for carrying out the manoeuvre. The stall for them is relatively new. For a long period, it has been permitted for drivers in electric cars to use the bus lanes in Norway.

But several cities are now choosing to scrap that arrangement to ease the pressure on traffic. On 6 May, the Norwegian road authorities introduced a temporary ban on electric cars on roads reserved for public transport. It has happened on both motorways and country roads as well as in the city center in cities such as the capital Oslo and Akershus.
