Car importers demand new support for electric cars in the Finance Act

The electric cars are already cheaper in registration tax, if they pay anything at all. Now the Danish car importers want charging stations on the Finance Act.

On Friday this week, the government presented its finance bill. But those who decide have forgotten something. At least if you ask Mobility Denmark – formerly De Danske Bilimportorer.

The managing director of the car porters, the former leftist Mads Rorvig, demands that the proposed comeback to the tradesman deduction also applies to charging stations for electric cars.

This is what the interest organization writes in a press release .

In the finance bill, DKK 400 million has been set aside annually to cover tradesman deductions between 2025 and 2028. Among other things for improvements to housing if it has 'a particularly strong focus'. But according to Mobility Denmark, that is not enough.

The government is forgetting the electric cars. A type of car that the interest organization otherwise fears that the Danes will lose interest in if more and more taxes are introduced towards 2035 – as is the plan.

According to Mads Rorvig, the fact that the government must include charging boxes in the list of things in the Finance Act should make it easier for motorists to choose everything other than the electric car. Ideally, motorists should replace their fossil-fuel cars with something that only runs on electricity.

The tradesman deduction has a particularly strong focus, making it obvious that the installation of charging boxes must also be part of the scheme. The fact that electric cars replace fossil cars is of great importance for the entire green transition, says the director.
