The diesel price plummets – 1 liter costs less than DKK 11.

In Sweden, the price of diesel just continues to plummet. In fact, the price has not been lower for almost 4 years. Energieselskab does not see any higher prices ahead.

At home, the price of fuel is at its lowest since New Year. But that is nothing against the conditions in Sweden, where the price of diesel in particular is plummeting.

The price per liter is now under 16 Swedish kroner in several places. This corresponds to 10.4 Danish kroner. And with the energy company Ingo, which is also found in Denmark, you don't see any higher prices ahead.

– Many worry about buying a diesel car considering that they risk being banned. I think it also plays a role and makes the diesel price lower here in Sweden, says Ingo Sweden's director Erika Johansson to Carup .

Fear that the diesel car will be broken – or perhaps simply that the clean fuel will fail – is not, however, the only explanation for the cheap diesel. In order to bring a cramped Swedish economy into fashion, Sweden's government has now cut the fuel tax to the EU's minimum limit up to and including 2025.

Furthermore, there is currently generally less demand for diesel in particular in the much larger markets. For example, China uses less diesel, even though crude oil has actually become cheaper despite war and unrest in the Middle East.

Right now, the price of a tonne of crude oil is around 77 dollars, corresponding to 514 Danish kroner. It is a long way from the corona days in the summer of 2022, when the price shot up above 130 dollars per tons. Something that also here at home resulted in horribly expensive petrol and diesel.

In Sweden, however, the picture is completely turned upside down. In some places, diesel costs as low as SEK 15.8 per litre. It is only a little more than 10 Danish kroner.

At many Swedish gas stations, it is also noticed how it is to a large extent cars with Danish number plates that stop in to be filled up. It depends, among other things, on together with, the fuel tax in Denmark will rise again shortly. Read more about it here .
