Car brand approves 'Danish unloading' on Friday

At home, Mercedes has already divested some of its car dealer business to others. And now the brand is considering whether 8,000 German employees will go the same way.

Parts of Mercedes' Danish car dealer business are only awaiting approval from the competition authorities to come into Dutch hands.

And now Mercedes is considering whether the brand should do the same with the entire car dealer business in Germany.

This is written by the German media Handelsblatt .

A sale of the dealer network will mean that 8,000 employees spread over 80 car shops will have to find a new employer.

In fact, Mercedes must be so far ahead with plans for a divestment that the brand's supervisory board, which advises the board, will approve the plans as early as Friday this week.

According to Handelsblatt, each of the official Mercedes dealers in Germany is up to 40 million euros, corresponding to a little over 300 million Danish kroner, each at the moment.

How much the Dutch Van Mossel Automotive Group has paid the Danish Mercedes importer for the right to sell Mercedes models in Denmark was not revealed in the news about the deal that became public knowledge at the beginning of January.
