The government will introduce a blood alcohol limit of 0.0 for motorists

On Thursday morning, the government is expected to present a bill banning 17-year-old drivers from drinking alcohol. On the other hand, at certain times they must of course drive the car alone.

It will be both easier and more difficult to be a very young driver. On Thursday, the government is expected to present a proposal that will ban 17-year-old drivers from drinking alcohol.

Specifically, the government is proposing zero tolerance for drink-driving for the country's youngest drivers. In return, the 17-year-olds must be allowed to drive a car on their own.

This is written by several media – i.a. Ekstra Bladet on Wednesday evening this week.

The government will give young drivers permission to drive on their own between 05 and 20, because it is during this time that most people need to get back and forth.

In the dognet's other hours, the current accompanying arrangement is reportedly not tampered with, which means that an experienced driver must be in the car when the 17-year-old is behind the wheel. This has otherwise been the case since 2017.

As it is now, a driver who has had a driver's license for at least 10 years and has otherwise never had his driver's license revoked must sit in the passenger seat when the 17-year-old drives a car. From the age of 18, the companion scheme disappears.

But the young drivers still have their driver's license on trial. This means that it already triggers a traffic ban when there are two clips in the traffic map. All other drivers have 3 clips to give, because a new choir and theory test awaits.

The new legislative proposal from the government comes just a few weeks after significant changes were made to the choir card rules in Denmark. Read more about it here .
