Audi holds firm – New RS3 also has 5 cylinders and turbo

Not much has been changed in the facelifted Audi RS3. At least not when it comes to the 5-cylinder engine with turbo.

Audi has lifted the lid on the facelifted RS3. And it is both a surprise and not at all. Because the Germans stick to the engine – namely a 5-cylinder petrol engine with a turbo.

The engine has 400 horsepower and 500 Nm, which is enough to send it from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and around the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 33 seconds. A record for cars in that segment.

The secret behind the record is that Audi has improved the way the many horsepower are distributed between all four wheels in the famous Quattro all-wheel drive.

By letting all four corners handle the horsepower individually, the facelifted RS3 now gets through corners faster than ever.

Something else is top speed. It is electronically limited to 290 km/h, and then of course there are the body shapes. Here, too, Audi holds firm. The facelift is available as both a sedan and a sportsback. Both cars are manufactured at the factory in Ingolstadt, and the brand opens the order books at the end of August.

In other words, in a little while. Audi in Denmark has not yet mentioned the new RS3 in a press release. We therefore also do not know whether the price has moved.

But on Danish number plates, the car has never been a cheap pleasure. In the latest edition, the buyers were worth DKK 934,000 when the tax was paid.

How long Audi intends to keep the RS3 alive is a good question. The current car hit the streets in 2020. The model was in production for 6 years. So, at least in theory, the assembly line is coming to an end.
