Poul hid a unique collection of cars and 30 tonnes of spare parts on Lolland

Poul Christiansen was an accountant by profession but a car enthusiast at heart. After his death, his son Peter found a barn full of cars and spare parts in Sakskobing in Lolland.

Poul Christiansen, an accountant with a deep passion for cars, dedicated his spare time to collecting cars, especially those from Opel.

Although Poul experienced health problems, including a cardiac arrest at the age of 35, he did not let himself be slowed down. Not even when it came to the cars.

With no prior experience in car restoration, he managed to build up an impressive car collection over many years.

This is what Campen Auktioner, who will soon have the cars under the hammer, writes in a press release .

After Poul Christiansen's death, his son, Peter, took over the task of taking care of the collection. When Peter began to explore the many barns that housed his father's possessions, he was surprised by the extent of the collection.

In addition to several youngtimers, including models such as the Opel Rekord, Omega and Astra, he also discovered a 30-tonne warehouse of spare parts, which was spread over seven or eight different locations on Lolland.

One of the most notable discoveries was a series of registration certificates that revealed his father had owned another 20 cars.

These cars are now scattered around the country, and Peter has since worked to find them. During his search, he encountered several surprises, such as when he found a car that matched one of the certificates, parked in a nearby field.

This unique collection is now being offered at auction under the name "Ladefund Sakskobing & Nyrup (Zjælland) no. 10338." The auction not only gives car enthusiasts and Opel fans the opportunity to acquire one or more cars. The 30 tonnes of spare parts, including plate parts, alloy wheels and lights, primarily for Opel models, are also under the hammer.

The auction ends on Sunday 1 September 2024 at 20. Peter Christiansen sees the auction as a way of distributing his father's legacy.

On the other hand, the treasure hunt that his father started continues. Peter expects that the hunt for the remaining cars will continue for many years to come.
