Polestar 5 gets almost 900 horsepower

This weekend you can experience the brand new Polestar 3 and 4 models at the Auto Show in Odense Congress Center. But something even wilder is on the way – namely the Polestar 5.

For the Polestar 5, which was first seen at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a few years ago, is now closer to actual series production than ever before.

Not only that, the Polestar 5 can reportedly charge its battery from 10 to 80 percent in 10 minutes, which is among even the fastest on the market. The car will also get almost 900 horsepower.

That's what Auto Bild writes.

Specifically, it is expected that the Chinese brand, which Volvo sold to the parent group Geely earlier this year, will deliver a car with 884 horsepower and as much as 900 Nm.

This is done in order to compete directly with the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes EQS. At least that's what the brand claims on its website.

Similar to the Porsche Panamera, the new Polestar gets an 800-volt architecture. Translated into Danish, this means that the four-door GT model will be able to charge… quickly. The Mercedes EQS is not based on the same technology, but it is already rumored to be undergoing a facelift.

However, the brand has not yet said anything about how much range future Polestar 4 owners can count on. But if the goal is to capture Porsche customers, the official WLTP range must be at least 503 kilometers.

So far, the base model of the Taycan, which is simply called the Taycan, can come on a charge. It is rumored that the new 5 will have a range of 598 kilometers. Or that at least that is the goal of the engineers with the development work.

Polestar can then hope that they do not deliver cars that lose value at the same uncanny pace as the Porsche.

Boosted has previously reported that the new top model, the Turbo GT, had lost almost a quarter of a million kroner in value just 28 days after its world premiere. Read more about it here .
