Self-driving cars created traffic jams – could only push

The self-driving cars have been on the streets of San Francisco since 2020. Just as long, they have been a traffic headache. Now they create throbbing traffic jams.

There have been self-driving cars on the streets of San Francisco since 2020. Unfortunately, they have mostly made negative headlines.

And now it's so wrong again. Recently, some of the self-driving cars have created a gigantic traffic jam. The cars simply clumped together on a certain road, and then they gave themselves to pushing otherwise.

This meant that the neighbors of the place where the cars pass between their 'shifts' were well and truly disturbed in the middle of the night's sleep.

The chaos is allegedly due to the cars being programmed to warn a self-deprecating colleague when he gets too close. But as can be seen in the images, which NBC brings, among others, the technology is very far from flawless.

– We are aware that in some cases our cars can push for a short time when navigating our parking lots. We have identified the cause and are implementing a solution, says the company behind the self-driving cars, Waymo, in a statement to NBC.

However, it is not the first time that the self-driving cars cause problems. In fact, there are indications that the population has already had enough of them. Or at least parts of the population.

It is not many months ago that an angry crowd went berserk on the self-driving cars with rocket launchers, other weapons and fireworks. Read more about it here .
