Shut up or I'll shoot – Audi employee beaten by car thief

It developed into a fistfight when a 39-year-old man tried to steal an Audi in New Orleans, USA last week.

An Audi employee escaped with a few blows to the head. But it could have ended fatally when he ended up sitting next to a car thief in New Orleans last week.

The car thief – a 39-year-old man from the local area – showed up at the Audi dealer, where he pretended to be an interested customer.

The employee, who was short on the test drive, was threatened to get out of the car along the way. However, it did not end that way.

Instead, the two ended up in a fight, where the Audi employee managed to get the car stopped, even though the car thief had drawn a gun.

After the two men had hit each other in the head, the 39-year-old man fled from the car and into a nearby building. However, witnesses could tell the police what had become of him.

So now he is in custody with a bail of 200,000 dollars, equivalent to 1.36 million kroner, hanging over his head.

At the time of the assault and death threat, the 39-year-old man was on parole from a five-year prison sentence in connection with some car thefts at the New Orleans airport.

The story does not say how badly the Audi employee was injured. But it is not the first time that a car dealer's employees have been threatened with their lives or, for that matter, threatened others.

Last year, a 51-year-old man was fired from his job at a Suzuki dealership in the English town of Mansfield when he threatened to shoot a colleague in the head with a shotgun. The two had gotten into an argument over a football sticker from the club Liverpool FC.
