22-year-old driver had 60 very illegal bottles in the car

On Monday this week, a 22-year-old man tried to flee from his car and the police, who had seen him parked on Hasle Centervej in Aarhus V.

It caught the attention of a patrol when a man parked at a gas station Hasle Centervej in Aarhus V on Monday evening this week.

The man, who turned out to be 22 years old, got out of the car, but when the officers wanted to talk to him, he suddenly got very busy. In fact, he lobbed away from the scene.

However, the officers managed to catch up with the young driver, who was handcuffed immediately afterwards.

This is what East Jutland's Police write in the police report .

A look into the man's car also revealed why he took the legs on his neck. Inside the car were 60 bottles of nitrous oxide, which since last year have been illegal to transport without a so-called 'recognizable' purpose.

The many nitrous oxide bottles were seized with a view to later confiscation and destruction, according to the police.

The 22-year-old is far from the first motorist to be stopped with the illegal laughing gas in the car. In fact, the law was not many minutes old, because the first driver violated the ban. Read more about it here .

However, the laughing gas ban is not the only tightening that can hit drivers in the neck. In fact, the elected representatives are already considering whether the law against insane driving, which was introduced in March 2021, should be tightened.

Minister of Justice Peter Hummelgaard (S) said this when the law turned two years old in 2023. At that time, the country's police forces had already seized thousands of cars.

– In the coming time, we in the government will continue to follow the effect of the strictures in the area of madness and constantly look at the possibility of intensifying efforts against madness, said the minister.
