Volkswagen now sells the color "rubber duck"

You're probably going all the way to England. But then the color "Rubber Ducky" is also part of the equipment list. At least for the small SUV T-Cross.

The English have spoken. And Volkswagen has listened. From now on you can get a right-hand drive T-Cross in the color "Rubber Ducky". Or in Danish "rubber duck".

The yellow color is the result of a vote that the English VW importer released among the population. And with a whopping 46 percent of the votes, Rubber Ducky was 'short' with the victory.

– Someone might say that it is short to send the name of a color to a vote in the public space.

– But we are convinced that the people have been able to take a stand, says Oliver Lowe, who in England is responsible for the T-Cross model.

This is what Volkswagen writes in a press release .

It is not the first time that the English prefer a silly name. In 2016, an overwhelming majority of Britons agreed to name a new research vessel "Boaty McBoatface".

And that name has been stuck with ever since. It is not yet known whether Volkswagen will stick with the Rubber Ducky name. But at least it is part of the model program throughout 2024.
