Do you go on holiday yourself? Here are the stalls abroad

There are the minor faults behind the steering wheel. And then there are those who can cost you thousands of kroner on a self-catering holiday abroad.

Many Danes pack up the car every year and head south in the summer. But many have no idea that it can cost them dearly in the stalls.

For example, in the vast majority of countries it is forbidden to sing with the phone close to the ear. But in Finland they tighten it even more.

Here you are not even allowed to sing with a headset in your ears and your mobile phone in a holder. Or yes. You are welcome to hold the phone, just do not take the call by letting the connection go through a headset.

If you do it anyway, there will be a fine of 150 euros. Similar to the rule on mobile phone calls, it is a requirement in the vast majority of European countries that you have a reflective vest in the car. There may also need to be a first aid kit and a warning triangle.

This kind of thing costs 16 euros in a toll booth in Germany, while the toll rate in other countries approaches 100 euros. If not it's over.

In addition to the legal requirement for the equipment in the car, several countries require that motorists carry environmental labels showing that their cars meet a number of environmental requirements in cities.

Fortunately, these brands can be ordered in advance. Because large stalls will fall down if you do not have the environmental label correctly placed in the windscreen. In Italy, a toll must also be paid to use the motorway network.

Just as in certain Italian cities there is a ban on car traffic inside the city center itself. And even though it's a long way from home to Denmark, it doesn't matter for the stall. Italian police just send it to your home.

However, this does not mean that foreign drivers can drive as they see fit in Denmark. In the vast majority of cases, foreigners who break the law on Danish roads actually have to pay the fine immediately.
