Rivian says no to Apple CarPlay – "never ever"

Another car brand now says no thanks to Apple CarPlay. It will never ever come in my cars, says Rivian's managing director.

Some car brands are jumping in. Let Google and Apple provide both the one and the other operating system. Others clearly say no thanks. Most recently Rivian.

Thus, the car brand, which loses almost a quarter of a million on each and every car, joins the opinion that the General Motors group already has.

Android Auto from Google and the corresponding CarPlay from Apple will never find their way into cars from brands like Cadillac and Chevrolet, it says.

And now Rivian says the same. According to the brand's director and founder RJ Scaringe, it is about Apple CarPlay and Android Auto excluding Rivian's own 'eco-system'.

This is written by the medium Verge on the basis of an interview with RJ Scaringe.

In other words, Rivian believes that Apple CarPlay blocks some of the most basic functions in the cars. That is, because the functions must be operated from the screen, which must also make room for the Apple program.

Rivian has recently rolled out an update to their own operating system. And according to several of the owners and journalists who have tried it, it works brilliantly and smoothly.

Perhaps we will also soon see Rivian in Denmark. In any case, the brand has now publicly announced that it will sell its cars in Europe. However, Denmark is not on the list of the countries that were initially mentioned. Read more about it here .
