Scania sets a record – earns over DKK 2 million. kroner per hour

The Swedish truck and bus manufacturer Scania can note a record profit in the latest accounts. The Swedes earn 2.3 million an hour – round the clock.

Things are going well at Scania. At the head office in Södertälje, the accounting department has just been able to publish the figures for the second quarter of 2024. And the money is pouring in. In fact, 2.3 million Danish kroner rolls in per hour.

This is due to an increase in the sale of trucks of 8 percent. Scania got rid of 25,802 cars in the months of April, May and June. The sale resulted in a profit of 5 billion Danish kroner. Scania's highest ever measured in a single quarter.

It is not the sale of trucks to Europe that does it all. The Swedish truck manufacturer can also pat itself on the back for having succeeded in raising the average profit per lorry.

– With increased delivery volume and a favorable product and price mix, we have once again achieved a record high operating result for a single quarter, says Christian Levin, managing director at Scania AB.

Competitors from Volvo are betting on more fuels for the giant trucks. Back in May, Boosted could tell that Volvo Trucks is jumping on the hydrogen bandwagon that Toyota and BMW are already experimenting with. However, the Swedes will try to burn it.
