42,565 motorists have paid DKK 175 million so far in the course of 2024. However, this is fewer than the same period last year. At least on the Norwegian roads.
Here at home, the camera vans and the other camera traps are such good business that they are on the Finance Act. In Norway, however, the state also shovels in money.
175 million Norwegian kroner has been created in six months. This corresponds to 108 million Danish kroner.
According to Norwegian Motor.no, the figures for the first half of 2024 may change slightly, as not all cases have been completed by the police yet.

Although the more than 100 million Danish kroner is a lot of money, fewer Norwegians have actually been caught in a camera trap this year. At least when compared to the same period in 2023.
In the first half of 2023, the Norwegian treasury collected NOK 183 million. A good 113 million Danish kroner.
This is because over 47,000 motorists cut too fast on Norwegian roads during that period. A year later, it is 'only' around 42,000 motorists who have been flashed. This even though several cars have actually passed the Norwegian photo vans.
– It seems that more choir uniforms are being checked compared to last year. This means that there are more photo vans on the roads this year than last year. But the figures must be taken with reservations, says head of the Police's automatic traffic control center (ATK) Vivi-Ann Haukås to the newspaper Bergens Tidende .
If the development continues, the Norwegian state will earn 350 million kroner from the country's photo vans this year. This corresponds to 216 million Danish kroner. And it is actually a pittance compared to what the Danish state empties the drivers' pockets for every year. Read more about it here .
However, the Danish state also benefits from Norwegians who drive too hard on Danish roads. Best known is the Iraqi resident of Norway, Shakha Ameen, who in 2021 was taken for speeding, when he blew past the police at at least 228 km/h.
The case has since been settled in the high court, and Shakha Ameen has both lost the car and been banned from entering Denmark. The car, a Lamborghini Hurcan Spyder, was bought by a Danish car dealer. Read more about it here .
