Dacia humiliates Denmark's most popular car

It is quite possible that the Tesla Model Y is Denmark's most popular car. But the electric car lags behind the cheap Romanian Dacia Sandero.

In the course of the first half of 2024, nothing has been able to knock the Tesla Model Y off the peg as Denmark's most popular car. However, it looks different when the rest of Europe is included.

Because even though the Dacia Sandero is completely without an electric motor, it tops the overall sales list throughout Europe. The cheap Romanian beats both the Volkswagen Golf and the Renault Clio, which have to settle for second and third place respectively on the European car market.

That the small Romanian car, built on older Renault technology, now tops the sales charts is no surprise.

According to Autocar , Sandero has been at the top of the sales lists since 2017. At home, Sandero costs from DKK 150,000 on white number plates. But it can actually be called Denmark's cheapest car when the number plates look a little different. Read more about it here .

However, the days of very cheap cars seem to be numbered. At least in Denmark, where it has been many years since even the Czech Skoda sold a cheap car. Denmark's cheapest car generally costs from DKK 122,000. Read more about it here.

"Cheap Cars". In other words, those where there is really little equipment from the factory are not completely a thing of the past. For example, Audi has just launched a version of the electric car Q4 on steel wheels.

However, other car brands claim that they are on the way with cheap electric cars. That is, in general. For example, Volkswagen maintains that from 2027 it will be possible to sell an electric car for 20,000 euros.
