Formula 1 seat is within reach, says Schumacher

Mick Schumacher himself believes that he can make a comeback in Formula 1. In fact, a seat in the field is within reach, he says.

Kevin Magnussen may be on his way out after his departure from Haas this week. But the Dane's former teammate, Mick Schumacher, may be on his way into Formula 1.

Or at least more than he already has a foot in with the twain as Mercedes' and McLaren's reserve choirs.

PlanetF1 writes that.

There are still available seats ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 season. And that, among other things, at Alpine, who by 'mutual agreement' are saying goodbye to Esteban Ocon at the end of this season. Ocon, in turn, is expected to get Kevin Magnussen's place.

One of the reasons why Mick Schumacher is associated with the Alpine seat is that the 25-year-old German already drives prototype cars for the brand. It happens in the WEC series, which i.a. counting the 24 hour race at the Le Mans circuit in France.

According to Mercedes' team boss Toto Wolf, who is also Schumacher's top boss, Alpine is 'super happy' for the young German 'who has really delivered the goods'.

Whether praise from some bosses is enough to secure 25-year-old Schumacher a seat in Formula 1 is doubtful. Nevertheless, he himself believes that a seat is within reach.

– It is important for me to return to Formula 1 and show what I can do. My chances are pretty good at the moment. Right now. is within reach, he says to the French news agency AFP.

Mick Schumacher also makes it clear that he is prepared to wait for Formula 1 'as long as necessary'. However, the entire car cabal ahead of the 2025 season is only expected to really fall into place when Carlos Sainz chooses a seat.

The 29-year-old Spaniard was fired earlier this year at Ferrari, who would rather give Lewis Hamilton a mess of a track suit and racing car.
