Car designer dead – brutally killed in front of his home

He designed the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Ghost. But last week Ian Cameron, 74, was found dead. Stabbed in front of his own home.

Rolls-Royce's former chief designer Ian Cameron has died. Last week, the 74-year-old Englishman was found dead. Brutally stabbed in front of his own home.

The Daily Mail writes that.

According to the media, his wife fled and jumped for her life in an attempt to avoid the perpetrator, who the police are now looking for with lights and flashlights.

The perpetrator is said to have fled the scene covered in Ian Cameron's blood after the designer's wife managed to seek refuge with the neighbours.

Ian Cameron reportedly has a very valuable car collection in Germany, which is why he has his home heavily monitored for the same reason. However, the power cable to the cameras must have been cut immediately before the murder.

However, Ian Cameron was not only known for his last assignments at Rolls-Royce. The designer was trained in 1975, and from here the tour went, among other things, to BMW, where he later took care of the exterior lines of the Z8 and 3-Series.

But it was when BMW took over Rolls-Royce in 1998 (and fought with Volkswagen over Bentley, ed.) that Cameron really got noticed. Today – and before his death – he is considered the man whose design lifted Rolls-Royce to new heights.
