Dane Kevin Magnussen will officially sing the last Formula 1 lob this year. Nor is he allegedly a subject at Alpine.
Alpine must find a replacement for Esteban Ocon, who by 'mutual agreement' will leave the team after this season. But that replacement will not be Kevin Magnussen.
Because even though the Dane has cards for the team back when it was called Renault, sources with knowledge of Alpine's plans believe that Magnussen is not part of the considerations.
The 31-year-old Dane was thus not even supposed to be in Alpine's top 3 of drivers you want to see in the racer next year.
Right now, one of the favorites for the – at least on paper – vacant Haas seat is Esteban Ocon. In that case, the 27-year-old Frenchman will have to share a garage with Ferrari junior Oliver Bearman, who is just 19 years old.

Nor does Kevin Magnussen's former team manager, Günther Steiner, believe that the Dane has a great future in Formula 1 anymore.
Reuters writes that.
– We need to be open about things. Either Hülkenberg is better than we think, or Kevin is just not at the level he should have to drive Formula 1, says Steiner, who himself was kicked out of the Haas garage immediately for the 2024 season.
There is also something about that. This year, Nico Hülkenberg has collected 22 points for Haas, while Kevin Magnussen has just five more points for the team.
It is also not many days ago that the Dane lifted some of the veil for his future. A time which may/may not lie outside motorsport's finest class. Read more about it here .
