MG towed to court – four-wheel drive only works one way

The Norwegian answer to FDM, NAF, is appealing a judgment which otherwise acquits Chinese MG of lying about a distinctive four-wheel drive.

The MG Marvel R is four-wheel drive. But only when the car is going straight. When the car reverses, it pulls only on the front wheels.

And that can't be right. At least not when you ask the Norwegian NAF, who now want the court's word for MG to buy back a Marvel R.

According to both NAF and the owners, the car was bought on the condition that it pulls on all four wheels at any given time. But it turns out to be very far from reality. Read more about it here.

Now Motor.no writes that NAF does not want to accept the district court's decision and is therefore ready to appeal the case further in the system.

– We think it is important to have a clarification in the Court of Appeal, says lawyer Jens Christian Riege at NAF Advokat, which is NAF's law office.

The car owner, Ole Roar Næss, had actually given up the idea of appealing the case. But he's not the only one who thinks he was promised something MG can't keep in Marvel R.

However, the second case has also fallen out in MG's favour. But there is very little reasonableness in that, NAF believes. Among other things. because the Norwegian MG importer was not even aware that the cars are not four-wheel drive in reverse. It only became so in 2021.

Are you an MG owner and have you experienced that the car dealer has sold you a car with a ceiling that it is four-wheel drive? Then the Boosted editors would love to hear from you. Write to web editor Bjorn at bj@boosted.dk.
