Tired of being too messy in Denmark? Now there is good news

The traffic signals in Denmark must be adjusted so that they adapt to a greater degree to the traffic that is at the individual intersection. This saves society 77 million kroner.

The Road Directorate must start with an adjustment of the traffic signals in Denmark.

The light controls, as they are also called, must be adapted to a greater extent to the traffic on the individual roads and at certain intersections. Primarily because there is something to be saved about it.

When the initiative is fully implemented, it will provide an annual socio-economic saving of DKK 77 million and a climate gain of 150-300 tonnes of CO2 saved per year.

This is what the Road Directorate writes in a press release .

– We have been out and about adjusting how long there are green and red lights, and in some places we have also introduced left-turn arrows.

– It would like to avoid unnecessary stopping and idling when you come to a traffic signal.

– On the other hand, you get to your destination faster. Good and efficient infrastructure is beneficial for all of us, says Charlotte Vithen, area manager in the Road Directorate.
