Land Rover has set an absurd record when it comes to the price of spare parts. A single headlight costs DKK 50,000.
It's about keeping an extra close eye on the headlights on the Land Rover Defender. Because if they break, it means a bill of DKK 100,000.
At least if these are to be original. That's what We Bilägare writes.
The price is for the spare part only. The assembly comes on top. And the workshops – especially those with the car brands in the back – are not known to be among the cheapest.
Hans Eklöf, who owns a Ford Fiesta, can talk about that. Ford wants DKK 25,000 to replace the timing belt on his car. And the importer will absolutely not help.

Conversely, it is nothing new that spare parts, especially for new cars, are a costly affair. Back in November 2022, Boosted could tell that a single rear light for the then-new GMC Hummer EV fetched a furiously large sum of money.
At the time, GMC explained the high price with the design of the rear light. There are some microchips behind the glass which control all the lamp's functions and way of lighting up. So there is nothing to do. The price must be paid at box one. Read more about it here .
All in all, it can be almost mind-bogglingly expensive to take the car to a workshop. Back in August 2021, a criticized workshop chain ended up in prime time on DR.
In the consumer program Kontant, the workshop defended itself by saying that 'you need to be able to see into the future'. Read more about it here .
