The police have seized a fake photo van in Zealand

The Central and West Zealand Police have seized a fake photo van which was bothering motorists on Wednesday afternoon.

Two men have been charged on Wednesday with pretending to be something they are definitely not. At the same time, the Central and West Zealand Police have seized the men's fake photo van.

The photo van was used by the men to 'blitz' motorists from a blue van. In the cargo compartment of the car, the men had set up something that looks confusingly like police equipment for automatic traffic control.

The police circle writes that in the police report .

The equipment may emit a flash. The police also found a hand-held speedometer in the van. The two men had also set up a website where you could order the 'homemade photo van'.

But that kind of thing is absolutely illegal. Therefore, the men are now charged with pretending to be representatives of a public authority.

At the same time, the Central and West Zealand Police have seized the fake photo van, while the case against the two men is being investigated further.

It is far from the first time that some Danes without any kind of connection to the police pretend to be from the law enforcement. In 2020, a then 18-year-old man was stopped when he himself tried to stop the real police. He was subsequently denied the choir card. Read more about that case here .

And back in April this year, an owner of a ragged Dacia was stopped when he was lying on the roof with blue flashing lights, disturbing the other traffic on the Kalundborg motorway. However, the police believe that the 51-year-old man may have bothered many more drivers in other parts of the country.
