New research claims to dispel myth about electric cars

According to a new survey, the number and distribution of charging points is underestimated. Something that otherwise keeps drivers from buying electric cars.

Part of what makes motorists choose the electric car is the possibility or lack thereof to charge on the way.

According to a new survey by Swedish Kamux, many people simply do not think that there are enough charging points.

But the survey shows that half of all Swedes have access to a charging stand. Either at home or at work.

– Charging and range are two of the most common questions affecting consumers when considering switching to an electric car or plug-in hybrid, says Andy Rietschel, CEO of Kamux, Sweden.

He hopes that the investigation can get more people to switch to the electric car, because he believes that there is no other alternative than the electric car in the future.

A total of 1,000 Swedes aged 17 to 70, all of whom have a choir card, took part in the survey. 73 percent of them answered that they have access to a charging stand. It is either in the immediate vicinity, at work, at home or in the summer house.

However, 39 percent of the respondents also answer that they do not Рor do not in some of the places mentioned Рhave access to a current for an electric car. And around Sm̴land and the Swedish oars, the figure is even higher Рnamely 45 percent.

Something else is the attitude of car brands towards electric cars. In many cases, it has found reverse gear instantly. For example, both Mercedes and Volkswagen will now spend several hundred billion kroner on the internal combustion engine.

Ford has also announced that it does not intend to sell only electric cars in Europe in 2030. The brand must now take note that it is losing DKK 1 million per electric car being built.
