Fisker has sold 3,200 cars in one go – has been given away

By entering into an agreement with the American leasing company American Lease, Fisker can clean up the stock of unsold cars. However, the price is modest.

Fisker has sold his stock of cars to one and the same buyer. This appears from a legal document from the United States.

The buyer is the American leasing company American Lease, which gets the cars for DKK 46.52 million. So just around DKK 320 million.

Last week, when it disclosed that American Lease was the buyer of the cars, the leasing company would not comment on the deal. But with the price stated in the document, the leasing people also got the cars almost for free.

According to Motor magazine's calculation, this corresponds to $14,500 being given for each car. This corresponds to just over DKK 100,000 per car. Around DKK 50,000 less than the car brand itself tried to sell the cars for when the remaining employees were offered the cars.

A bankruptcy closure of Fisker Inc. is now pending. The brand's lawyer has said that the brand is ready to go into liquidation when the assets – i.e. the cars – have been sold. Fisker's two biggest creditors are left and are fighting over who should have covered some of his loss first.

At court proceedings in Austria last week, it emerged that a total of 161 creditors have raised a claim of more than DKK 8 billion against Fisker Inc. The car brand will only recognize a fraction of the amount. Read more about it here .

The news that American Lease has bought the last Fisker Ocean – probably ever – may prove to be good news for the other Fisker owners.

The leasing company is dependent on the cars keeping up to date. Therefore, the leasing people probably also take over the responsibility of keeping the software in the cars up to date.

Perhaps it will be possible for private Fisker Ocean owners to purchase that service. At least that's what the Danish industry analyst Rene Tonder, who Motor magazine spoke to, thinks.

Boosted has previously spoken to a Danish Fisker Ocean owner who can recognize many of the faults for which the cars have been recalled. Read more about it here .
