Koenigsegg Jesko is the world's fastest car from 0 to 400 km/h

From 0 to 400 km/h and back again, the Koenigsegg Jesko is the world's fastest car. However, the record is only one of those the Swedes have broken.

Koenigsegg Jesko is the world's fastest car from 0 to 400 km/h and back again.

It is fixed after Koenigsegg let the car loose on the tarmac at Örebro Airport. The trip from 0 to 400 km/h and back again took 27.89 seconds.

0.98 seconds faster than the record Koenigsegg Regera set years ago in the Nevada orc. In fact, Koenigsegg has also set speed records in Denmark. Read more about it here.

Just barely might not sound like much, but in the world of cars it's forever. After the race at the airport, the Swedish car brand can also call itself the holder of even more world records.

– Because it is a big performance challenge in a very short time, there is no other test like this. That makes it exciting, says Koenigsegg in a press release .

The Koenigsegg Jesko is also the fastest mass-produced car from 0 to 400 km/h. It took test driver Markus Lundh 18.82 seconds to whip that speed out of the car.

In order to reach those speeds, Markus Lundh doesn't get anything special to work on. In other words, nothing other than what Koenigsegg already delivers to its customers.

In Jeskoen's case, this means a car with a 5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 1,625 horsepower on E85 bioethanol.

– It is a completely different car, there are no batteries in this car other than 12 volts. It's a 1600 horsepower V8 engine that runs on renewable E85 fuel. It has our LST 9-speed gearbox.

– This is the version with low downforce, so there is an advantage from zero to 400 km/h, but it has no active aero or downforce when braking, but still we managed to beat our own records, says Christian von Koenigsegg.

Now the Swedes are looking to score fast. That is, past the 447 km/h which is still the top speed record for a series-produced car.

They are sitting on it themselves with the Agera RS. To get there, it's all about getting the tires approved for it. Something the factory, however, expects to happen in the near future.
