Small shoes? Police charge passenger for 'greeting'

A passenger in a car has been charged with violating the public order because he gave law enforcement the finger.

In the United States, it is not a criminal offense to express what you as a motorist might think about the police. But that is the case in Denmark.

At least when this sort of thing involves a greeting with a long man. A 31-year-old man from Langebæk had to admit that on Thursday evening when he was a passenger in a car on Vordingborgvej outside Næstved.

The man was sitting in the passenger seat of his own car, from where he chose to give the police the finger. Soon after, the police decided to stop the car.

This is what the South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police write in the police report .

The driver of the car – a 30-year-old woman – was initially charged because one of the headlight bulbs did not work. The police then concentrated on writing the passenger up for several things.

Since he is the owner of the car, he was also charged for the missing light. And then he was told to pay a fine for the fuck finger he had sent in the direction of the police shortly before.

The case from the USA has a slightly different character. Here, a judge rejected an arrest of a motorist who had given an officer the finger. However, the judge did something more than that, and it will be extremely expensive for the officer. Read more about it here .
