Audi RS Q8 Performance: Fastest SUV on the Nürburgring

The Audi RS Q8 Performance impresses with 640 hp and 850 Nm – and a record-breaking time on the legendary Nürburgring.

The new Audi RS Q8 Performance has been presented as the most powerful SUV from Audi Sport GmbH. With an impressive output of 640 hp and a torque of 850 Nm, this SUV pushes the limits of what a production car can achieve.

Audi has revealed that the RS Q8 Performance has set the best time ever for a production SUV at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with an impressive lap time of 7:36.698 minutes. This performance shows the car's outstanding handling characteristics and power.

The RS Q8 Performance has been designed with a focus on both dynamics and usability in everyday life. It comes with an optimized and automatically locking center differential, which ensures excellent driving dynamics.

The exterior of the RS Q8 Performance is inspired by the upgraded Q8. The car has significant air intakes and a beehive structure in the front fascia. The matt gray spoiler strip on the RS Q8 Performance emphasizes the car's sporty character. The rear end is adorned with two oval tailpipes and a centrally located diffuser.

The 8-cylinder engine in the RS Q8 Performance offers 640 hp and a torque of 850 Nm. This powerful engine enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The top speed can optionally be increased from the electronically limited 250 km/h to either 280 km/h or 305 km/h.

To ensure maximum enjoyment, the RS Q8 Performance comes with permanent quattro four-wheel drive and an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox. The center differential distributes the traction force between the front and rear axles for optimal driving experience.

The chassis is equipped with adaptive air suspension sport with regulated damping and RS-specific tuning, which makes it possible to vary the height by up to 90 mm. As an optional extra, the car can be equipped with an electromechanical roll stabilization (eAWS), which significantly reduces the side movements of the bodywork.

The RS Q8 Performance has been tested on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where it set a record as the fastest SUV. Race and development coach Frank Stippler completed the 20.832 kilometer course in the Eifel in just 7:36.698 minutes.

This time is significantly faster than previous SUV records, a testament to the car's superior performance and advanced technology.

For the exterior, customers can choose from several new paint colors, including Sakhir gold, Ascari blue and Chili root. The performance variant has design elements in a combination of matt gray and high-gloss black, while the RS Q8 has elements in black.

The RS Q8 Performance comes with new 23” alloy wheels as optional extras, available in several colours. The front axle has a powerful 10-piston brake caliper system, and RS ceramic brakes can be selected as standard on the RS Q8 Performance. These brakes have 440mm front and 370mm rear discs.
