Fisker closes – wants to get rid of 4,300 cars at once

Fisker is well on its way to selling all its assets. While investors disagree about who should get money first, 4,300 cars are looking for one owner, says reconstructor.

– Fisker contacted 40 potential buyers of the company without success.

That's what Fisker's reconstructor John DiDonato said on Friday in bankruptcy court when the car brand's bankruptcy protection was dealt with.

The crisis-stricken car manufacturer with Danish Henrik Fisker is unable to pay its debts, and for the same reason DiDonato has informed the bankruptcy court that Fisker will be completely liquidated when the assets are sold off.

Reuters writes that.

Fisker's only real assets are – apart from a few prototypes and intangibles for some other car models – a good 4,300 Ocean, explained John DiDonato in the bankruptcy court.

The restorer will now try to sell all cars to the same buyer. According to information from the Wall Street Journal, it is about the American leasing company American Lease. Here, however, they have not wanted to confirm the information.

In probate court, however, John DiDonato had more to say. In particular, he made a sharp criticism of the media, which he believes is to blame for Fisker's situation. Bad publicity has led to an 'unprecedented challenge in sales'.

At the same time, Fisker has suffered from the generally falling demand for electric cars and rising interest rates on e.g. car loan. Two creditors in particular are left fighting over a debt of 850 million dollars, which Fisker is said to owe away.

The creditor with the 'least' good accusations right now is Fisker for having transferred control of the brand to the other creditor in connection with a 'suspicious' transfer in November last year.

– Heights (creditor, ed.) was handed over virtually the entire business. Fisker has liquidated outside of this court's supervision. Essentially exclusively for the benefit of one creditor, reads the accusation from the other creditor's lawyer.

While Fisker looks more and more like a defunct company, a Danish dealer who claims to have sold 35 of the brand's cars believes the brand will survive. Read more about it here .
