When James Harkey suddenly didn't have to be a turkey breeder, he was left with an 8,000 square meter empty barn. He filled the space with classic cars of 20 years.
What would you give for a barn full of classic cars? If the answer is 40,000 turkeys, you are not the first to think so.
Or that is – that's how James Harkey has behaved. It took him 20 years, but then he also managed to fill the 8,000 square meter former turkey barn with classic cars.
At Hagerty, they call this kind of 'jackpot'. And if you're into classic cars, trucks and convertibles, James' collection must also be like winning the lottery.
Although several of the cars need a little bit of elbow grease and love. Many of them are up to 100 years old and completely original. One of the cars, a 1931 Pontiac, James parked himself in the big barn when he was done using it.
There is also a Chevrolet from 1935 with so-called suicide dolls. In other words, reverse hinges. Put there a Chevy Suburban, and a Pontiac GTO with a proper bite of a 1967 6.4-liter V8 engine under the hood. Or how about a Toyota Hilux or Mitsubishi Eclipse?
It is actually not that rare that hidden car collections surface. For example, some children have to get rid of their father's collection of 600 cars. You can read that story – and many others – in our huge 'barn finds' category right here on Boosted.
