Warns Fisker Ocean owners: "It's insurance fraud"

Fisher, who has filed for bankruptcy protection in the United States, can become a nightmare for the owners of the cars. Now they are warned directly against insurance fraud.

Boosted has previously told how a dent in a mandrel meant that a Fisker Ocean registered in the USA was declared a total loss.

Due to the brand's situation on the brink of bankruptcy, several insurance companies are now withdrawing when it comes to policies on the brand's models.

In Norway, several insurance companies will now not offer hull insurance at all to new Fisker Ocean owners. Broom writes that.

According to If, the country's largest insurance company, they will not offer Ocean owners anything other than the statutory liability insurance. The brand's future is simply too uncertain for that.

The insurance company does not hope that the Norwegian Fisker owners, who have managed to take out a comprehensive insurance policy, will be inspired by the story from the USA. In other words, they are speculating about deliberately causing total damage to their cars in order to be paid compensation.

Should that happen, it will be insurance fraud, and it is strictly punishable, says If's communications manager Sigmund Clementz.

– All insurance companies have a great focus on this, and have skilled investigators who are able to uncover all kinds of fraud, he says to the media.

However, it is not just the insurance on the cars that is a problem for the Fisker owners. Several banks require comprehensive insurance to be taken out if a car loan is to go the other way.

Unless you have the cash lying around, it is basically impossible to get a Fisker on the road. At least in Norway. Conversely, a car from the brand threatened with closure is very cheap at the moment. Some are offered brand new cars for DKK 150,000. Read more about it here .
