Abroad is going crazy – Illegal Tesla is roaming around Copenhagen

It shouldn't be here. And so anyway. Because Tesla has been temporarily allowed to film with the Cybertruck in Copenhagen.

The Tesla Cybertruck is unlikely to be approved in Europe.

Not even if potentially new driving license rules at EU level will actually mean that most Danes will be able to drive it legally. Read more about it here.

It was not long ago that we here at Boosted could tell that a Cybertruck would appear in Denmark as part of Tesla's charm offensive. And now it's here.

In fact, it also hums around on the roads. As an importer, Tesla has the opportunity to drive around in a Cybertruck in Copenhagen as if it is not type-approved in the EU. This is due to a number of provisions on the so-called 'fixed test signs'.

In Denmark, this kind of thing is allowed to be put on a car that is used or is to be used for advertising or other forms of filming.

It may also be with the fixed trial signs that people like Boosted employees – i.e. journalists – are sent out in press cars.

If you are more curious about what fixed test plates can actually be used for, the Motor Authority has listed all the conditions here . But in short – the Cybertruck is free to drive around Denmark as long as Tesla stays within the limits.
